Setting up Email using POP3 protocol on Windows Mail




To set up  Windows Mail, just follow these steps:

1.Open Windows Mail .

2.Simply click Tools > Accounts > Add.

3.In Display name Write : your Name or your company name whatever you want your recipients see when they receive an email from you.

4.Then click Next.

5.In E-mail address enter : your email address (i.e userrname@yourdomain.com).

6.Then click Next.

7.In Incoming e-mail server type drop down menu select POP3.

8.In Incoming mail (POP3) server enter incoming servers you received in your welcome email (I.e ….enter: ds01.nilehosting.com or leap.nilehosting.com).

9.In Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP )name enter: outgoing servers you received in your welcome email (I.e ….enter: ds01.nilehosting.com or leap.nilehosting.com ).

10.Check  right in Outgoing server requires authentication box.

11.Click Next.

 

12.In E-mail user name enter :your email address (i.e userrname@yourdomain.com).

13.In password enter: your password.

14.Check right in Remember password box.

15.Click Next.

16.click Finish.

17.Select Tools > Accounts.

18.Double click  the mail you just setup.

19.Then select Properties > Servers.

20.In Server Information:

  • In My incoming mail server type enter : POP3.
  • In Incoming mail POP3 enter incoming servers you received in your welcome email (I.e ….enter: mail.yourdomain.com).
  • In Outgoing mail server (SMTP ) enter : outgoing servers you received in your welcome email (I.e ….enter: mail.yourdomain.com).

21.In Incoming Mail Server:

  • In Email username enter : your email address (i.e userrname@yourdomain.com).
  • In Password enter your password.
  • Check right in Remember password box.

22.Check  right in My server requires authentication box.

24.Then click on The Setting tab.

  • Use same settings as my incoming mail server should also be selected.

25..Then click on Advanced tab.

  • Outgoing server can use 25 or 587
  • Incoming server must be 143

25.Check Right in leave a copy of message on server Box.

26.Check Right in Remove from server When deleted From Deleted items Box.

27.Click ok.

Congratulations! You’re done configuring your mail to send and receive messages.
